FREE FREE FREE!

Get a free copy of my book, or this cat vill invade (your heart with LUV)!

So I made my novella, Schrodinger’s Telephone, free for a few days. The cover was named  THE WORST at some website that prefers the use of stock images with eyes. Did we (the better-half and myself) change it? No, because we love it.  Just like we love our little kitler what was probably completely unadoptable on account of his ‘stash.

People say it’s the most “accessible” thing I’ve written, meaning that it’s a gateway drug to my other stuff.

Please download it (the story, not the cat) today! (Or my cat will invade you! Just kidding, he’s never going to get off that chair.) Even if you hate reading fiction on a screen, it will only take you an hour. Also honest reviews would be most welcome. But probably get out yer handkerchiefs because it will give the feelz or maybe even the sadz.

This cover has been voted THE WORST!

Also, if you’ve read it already and liked it — TELL ALL YOUR VIRTUAL FRIENDS! And pretty please write a review and post it up on the Amazon, so I can get rich because if I sell a 3 million copies at 99 cents each for a 35% royalty, I will have A MILLION DOLLARS!

And you might maybe want to check out some of the other stuff what I have written, like the one inspired by a notorious true crime that really happened in the pre-gentrified East Village, or the one with the sexy vampire that’s like Camille with more blood and less coughing (which you can get for free also, but only if you follow these complex instructions) or maybe even the one about a big pharma trying to kill you.

A Very Peculiar Lynching — Anne Rice, Political Correctness, and Free Speech, Part I

What does Anne Rice have in common with the Donald? They both think "political correctness" is a threat to freedom.

From the GOP Debate 8/6/15:

Megyn Kelly: You’ve called women you don’t like “fat pigs, dogs, slobs, and disgusting animals…. Your Twitter account has several disparaging comments about women’s looks. You once told a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice it would be a pretty picture to see her on her knees. Does that sound to you like the temperament of a man we should elect as president….?

Donald Trump: …I think the big problem this country has is being politically correct.

———

Mob: (a) a riotous or disorderly crowd of people

— Collins English Dictionary

  • Lynch: To put to death by mob action without legal authority.
  • — Dictionary.com

Recently several media outlets on the web have reported bestselling author Anne Rice’s stand against what she characterizes as “internet lynch mobs” practicing what she calls “censorship by bully” in the name of “political correctness.”

While Rice  has spoken about this issue before, her most recent call to action to her Facebook followers has involved the controversial Jewish-nazi romance novel, For Such a Time. FSAT offers a happily ever after ending to the holocaust after  “blonde and blue-eyed Jewess,” (from the book cover) Hadassah Benjamin, converts to Christianity and plans a future with  the former (fictional) commandant of Theresienstadt, who has also accepted Jesus into his heart (Glory Hallelujah) and been “forgiven by God” (quote from text) for the mass murder stuff. And oh yeah, Hadassah had been his prisoner for most of the novel, and he threatened to send her back to Dachau.

Screenshots of a Conversation OR I Was Interrogating The Text From The Wrong Perspective

Some troll, not Anne Rice, but one of the gamergate boys she regularly sends out to harass anyone who’s crossed her because that’s her thing, (yes I know how insane that sounds) is posting lies about me in the comment section of an article on The Guardian because I said some things in reference to the subject of the article that he apparently disagrees with. I’m not sure, since his comments weren’t about his actual opinion, just about people he apparently wants a flame war with.

Specifically, one of the lies he’s telling is  about my facebook posts to Anne Rice’s facebook fan page (basically he said that I was a crazy person whose posts had so upset Ms Rice that she had to stop posting.)  So here are the screenshots of what I actually said and how she responded. This was about that holocaust nazi love story written by Kate Breslin, and my remark about Breslin’s wanting to use it in schools is true. She was giving away copies for Yom Ha Shoah to libraries and schools. Now that’s chutzpah! And no, I don’t think a public school would touch it, but there are lots of private religious schools in the south where textbooks aren’t very factually based. (Update: Think of this as the prologue to posts Part I and Part II on Anne Rice’s facebook battle in her continuing war against people who leave negative book reviews immoral internet lynch mob bully gangsters.

Anne Rice’s response. She’s wrong about her entire description of what’s going on, in ways it would take several paragraphs to explain, but it’s her facebook page so she can say what she wants:

The Truth About Kindle’s New Pay-Per-Page Plan

This superfluous post is partly in response to a recent piece on the Guardian book blog with the alarmist title: Amazon ‘pay-per-page’ plan could alter writing as well as royalties, as well as other equally dumb pieces I’ve read about this topic.

I say superfluous because Amazon darling and inspiration to self-published writers everywhere, Hugh Howey has a nice sane post regarding Amazon’s recent correction to to its payment plan for authors who participate in its lending library and streaming service. Howey’s post seems more geared to people who already were involved in Kindle Select. Mine is for any reader or writer with or without prior knowledge.

Get Your UPDATED Blood Diva from Amazon!

They say she died for loveGood news! Per my previous post, there were some embarrassing uncorrected errors in the version of Blood Diva that went out free (June 22-26). As soon as a reader alerted me, and I realized what had happened (an older version had been uploaded by mistake in December) I made the corrections and wrote Amazon suggesting they alert readers. I don’t believe they’ve done so yet, and they might not as they only use the “alert” in extreme cases, BUT I discovered this morning, they have made the “updated” version available to readers. Updates are FREE. So yay Amazon!

I would URGE you to please get the update — no matter when you purchased.

Here’s how: (1) Go into your Amazon account on your computer. (2) Go to “manage your content and devices.” (3) Search for Blood Diva. (4) Click “actions.” You should see “Get latest version” as one of your options. (I’m not sure if that’s the exact wording.) (5) Just click and you’re done!
