There a lots of interesting places to explore within the five boroughs of New York City, and there are plenty of easy day trips outside of the city that don\u2019t require finding a \u201clast minute\u201d \u00a0car rental.<\/div>\n<div class=\"entry-post\">\n<p>Here are five ideas for outdoor excersions that will feel like mini-vacations.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Explore Manhattan\u2019s Northern Tip<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-251\" src=\"http:\/\/www.perfectenglishnyc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/fort-tryon-park-300x200.jpg\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.perfectenglishnyc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/fort-tryon-park-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.perfectenglishnyc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/fort-tryon-park-768x511.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.perfectenglishnyc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/fort-tryon-park-230x153.jpg 230w, http:\/\/www.perfectenglishnyc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/fort-tryon-park-350x233.jpg 350w, http:\/\/www.perfectenglishnyc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/fort-tryon-park-480x319.jpg 480w, http:\/\/www.perfectenglishnyc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/fort-tryon-park.jpg 800w\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"266\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You can start by\u00a0catching\u00a0the<a href=\"http:\/\/web.mta.info\/nyct\/service\/aline.htm\">\u00a0A train<\/a>\u00a0to 207<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Street. From there you can visit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nycgovparks.org\/parks\/fort-tryon-park\">Fort Tryon Park<\/a>. The park offers beautiful Hudson River views on winding paths. This is also where you can find visit\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.metmuseum.org\/visit\/met-cloisters\">The Cloisters<\/a>. You can then walk to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nycgovparks.org\/parks\/inwood-hill-park\">Inwood Hill Park<\/a>, which offers hiking trails with old growth trees. There is also a Nature Center there where you can learn more about the local ecology. Sometimes there are additional activities sponsored by the Parks Department, such as kayaking.<\/p>\n<p>Along the route from Fort Tryon Park to Inwood Hill Park there are other attractions like the<a href=\"http:\/\/dyckmanfarmhouse.org\/\">\u00a0Dykeman Farmhouse Museum<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 the only remaining Dutch colonial house in New York (circa 1764). There are several good restaurants in the neighborhood. In Isham Park, you will find\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nycgovparks.org\/parks\/isham-park\/highlights\/14066\">Bruce\u2019s Garden<\/a>.
