Each has his or  her utterly distinctive voice. &#8221;<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;The subtitle, &#8220;A New York Story&#8221; is perfect, because the multiple voices seem like a chorus for the city.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Despite  having a large cast, keeping track of the current point of view  and  how each character connects with the others was rather easy.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;It&#8217;s  a completely absorbing read, and, yes, I&#8217;m going to say it &#8211; it  was an  absolute privilege for me to read writing this good.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;It is definitely couldn&#8217;t-put-it-down material that rivals most   of the best-selling thrillers I&#8217;ve read in the past ten years.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Ms. Stein&#8217;s writing style is, in turns, staccato, lyrical, and enthralling.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;The characters are so real, you can smell, hear, visualize and yes even taste them.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>Written  with confidence, keen literary sensibilities, but an accessible  and  easy to read style.
